Business Meeting

When you hear Business Meeting does it bring boring, lots of information, and snacks to mind? Well when I hear business meetings, I think of coffee and my husband Bryson. We started having what we call "Business Meetings" ever since we got engaged. At the time we had 4 months to plan a wedding and were in the midst of raising financial support for the both of us to intern with Fireseed. We would have a meeting every week or two and discuss the agenda: wedding planning and support. Each week we would talk about how each topic was going, what we had accomplished of our own assigned task, what needed to get done next and to pray. Some people thought this was a silly idea. Some people thought it was a great idea.

For us it worked and has continued to work! (Less meetings now than before, but we still have these meetings maybe once a month or every other month) We like it because we both come to this time ready to talk and ready to listen. We've experienced times when one of us is not at his/her best to talk or listen....and well this just gets us into more of a conflict. You know, like instead of just one random day unloading all this junk that needs to get done (especially durning engagement time)in a month one night when you are in a bad mood over something. Our business meeting time is for this. I love these times with Bryson, because I know when we both come with topics, have prepared ourselves to listen and to respond to each other these meetings can be really productive.
