Little things
Maybe it's because we have had snow days, or maybe its because I havent had a reason to get "for real" dressed in a while, or maybe it's because workout clothes are really comfy, or maybe it's because I'm busy chasing around my kids all day...Its actually been fun to get dressed and put on make up even though its just a parent/teacher conference for my pre-schooler...

Rewards
I've been walking 3 miles twice a week. Sometimes I jog, but because my family has a long history of bad knees, I walk most of the time.
I go on days V is at school, so it's just me and Parker getting some fresh air. He's usually pretty good, some days we have to stop a lot and I have to find something to entertain him. Other days he takes a little nap.
I like listening to the cars go by, talking to Parker about what we see, people talking as we pass one another, actually getting a moment to think/dream to myself, or making the time to pray.
Just recently I started bringing my ear buds to listen to music or my fav radio show, the bobby bones show. But those darn ear buds that came with my iPhone never stay in my ears. They never have! Does this happen to everyone else? Do I have abnormally large ear holes? I mean everyone wears them while working out. On occasion when I do run, I'm constantly adjusting the ear buds to "fit" snug back in my ear holes! It's rather annoying!
I decided to reward myself for walking every week and to motivate myself to continue walking!
So instead of constantly adjusting the normal ear buds I bought a sporty wrap around earphones!
And they are Pink!!
Sony Active Sport Headphones only 19.99!! These are so awesome! I wore them today and didn't have to adjust at all. The sound is perfect. It also comes with a little clip to clip to your shirt.
This post is not endorsed by Sony (but I wouldn't mind if it was!) I just really like these headphones ...and if you have been working out reward yourself! Buy new headphones, a pedometer, a new water bottle, yoga pants, new shoes etc! Continue your exercise and choose to be healthy for life.

Early Bird
Naturally I am an early riser. I remember when I was in lower elementary waking up on Saturday mornings at our normal wake up time (6:30/7am) and wake my mom up. She would (sometimes) let me go back to sleep in her bed...but most likely she would turn on Muppet Babies while she tried to get some z's on the couch.
In high school I probably wanted to sleep which I did sometimes, but with swim team, band, student council and youth group, there was always something. And my parents would always wake us up! My sister was more of a late sleeper than I was.
I had my fair share of sleeping in during college. The good ole days of doing what I wanted and sleeping in as long as I wanted had too unless something was happening...like getting those early morning rays at the pool :)
When we first were married, naturally I would pop right out of bed, started chatting and was ready to conquer my to-dos. I soon found out this was not how my new husband operated in the morning...oh newlyweds!
Now being a parent to young kids I really really really miss sleeping in. It's not so much sleeping as long as I want to part (which i do miss) but its the process of waking up I miss. The lay in bed staring at the ceiling for a little bit. Or sitting at the kitchen table or on the couch for a while before I need coffee or make breakfast. Waking up these days is fast paced. Someone always needs something: a new diaper, milk, breakfast, a napkin, a banana or a spoon.
I decided to change the fast paced wake up and be ready for the morning/day. For the past month I have been getting up earlier than everyone.. I set my alarm for 5:47am and start my day by myself. I usually head the kitchen fill the sippy cups with milk, put the dishes away, start the coffee maker, sometimes workout, maybe read a little or sometimes just sit by myself in silence at the kitchen table. It's a nice way to wake up. Every extrovert needs a little alone time. Most days it's hard to get up this early especially if I went to bed late. But for me to have MY time in the morning has helped me be less in a rush, I'm nicer to my kids, I'm prepared for what we are doing that day, I can connect with Bryson before he leaves for work. So far it has been very helpful and I hope to keep setting this time aside for myself.
The early bird catches the worm.

Day one: Wednesday
*In an effort to blog more, I'm going to challenge myself to blog everyday for a week. Here it goes!*
Today we were up and at 'em with a load of laundry finished (lets be real, it's clean but not folded) and out the door by 9am.
We headed to my parents house in Cypress for the day. (violet played grocery store all day long!) If u didn't know, we lived with them for 9 months so we still have stuff at their house and some in storage. With baby brother's due date fast approaching we have to get organized (now that we have resigned at our apt for 6 more months) and set up baby stuff!
After hanging out at my parents all day we headed out to our "usual" Wednesday evening events: -dropping Violet off at the church nursery -going to our small group that meets about 10 mins from church. We are reading "finding Gods will" by Gregg Matte. We meet each week and discuss a chapter or two and get to dig into how to apply it our lives. It has been really challenging and motivating to me on how I am seeking after God. After all He is the most important relationship I/we will ever have in this life. So finding or knowing Gods will is something I want to be in tuned with for my life.
After coming home, putting V down, eating tums like its candy (thanks 3rd trimester) and having a good conversation with B, it's time to rest this sleepy head!
