2 years old!!

Happy Birthday Violet!

Weight: 25.4 lbs (34 %)
(This is the first time in all of her check ups that she is not in the upper 85% for height or weight!)

Two years old!! This by far has been a really fun year! Violet has grown from animal sounds to talking in full (sorta) sentences!  It has truly been amazing to watch her grow and learn.  We are so thankful the Lord has given us this sweet, crazy, silly girl to steward for a short time.

Currently:

• She loves to sing!! All day long is singing or wants us to sing with her. A few favorites are "I love you, You love me", "Twinkle, Twinkle", "Happy Birthday", "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "Jesus Loves Me" all these include hand motions or adding in another persons name.
• Books! Violet still loves to read! She has a few favorites, but loves to be read to, or even sometimes I catch her reading to her stuffed animals.
• She is getting really good at playing by herself, especially if music is on in her room.  She will play pretend tea time or baby with her dolls.  I'll find her diaper mat out in her room and she will be changing their diapers and putting them to sleep. It really is so sweet!
• Art!  As I have posted in previous posts, she loves a good art project.  She loves to color, paint, put stickers on things, etc.  She can draw a straight line and is working on circles. 
• Letters and colors.  Violet can identify almost all the alphabet with their sounds and her colors.  It's amazing how fast her learning is right now! 
• Church. About every week we are at church 3-4 times a week. Thankfully we have gotten over the screaming/crying while going to childcare (though tonight we had a meltdown and I had to pick her up early).  But she loves going to church! She says "hi" to all her friends when we arrive, but gives us big hugs when we pick her up! The teachers are fantastic and are so welcoming and loving.  They truly love their job, love Jesus and love the kids.  Violet loves to pray at meals and bed time.  And gets really focused when we read the bible together.
• Discipline. Some days before noon Violet will have been in time out 5 times or more!  Other days there are no time outs.  It's definitely a learning process on how and when to discipline, but it also takes a lot of prayer too.

I'm excited to see what another year holds for Violet! We are so thankful for her joyful spirit and the blessing she has been in our lives these past two years.
