Hi!

Happy new year! I'm starting off this 2015 by running (and some walking) my first half marathon. Eeeek! It sorta makes me want to smile, cry, and have a stomach ache all at the same time! 

I'm so excited to actually be in a half Marathon! I've always thought how awesome it is when people accomplish a goal like this! And if I had a bucket list "running a half marathon" would be in it. The fact that there are 31,000 runners kinda makes me woozy! Like that's A LOT of people! It's a big deal! But I think that adds to the excitement of the event. Also I don't feel compeltely ready for the half! I was sick all of Christmas and the weather has been very cold and rainy, so not many long runs have taken place. But my goal is to finish, no matter what! I'm okay with walking here and there. 

I've bee following Hal Higdon's 12 week training guide to prepare for the half, which has been really helpful. I've been doing T25, 21 Day Fix and TurboJam for my cross training. (Which has really helped keep up my endurance on non running weeks)  Also joining a running group has been really encouraging and motivating to be accountable to actually run. I've been reading articles this week to prepare on how to eat, drink and run. Lots to think about. Anyways I'm mostly very excited and looking forward to it and a little nervous 

If anything this is a major motivation and encouragement:

Violet: "mom when is your half Marathon?" 
Me: "next weekend!! And I'm kinda nervous about it!" 
Violet: "that's okay don't be nervous, I'll be there to watch you and cheer for you!" 


Isn't she the best!?!
