Board Games. Everyone grew up playing there favorite game! Most families have a stash of board games them somewhere in the closet. Bryson and I have always enjoyed games together and with friends. Lately we have been playing a lot....
Boggle:
I first played boggle when I was in elementary. I think the reason I liked it was because when you shake the lettered dice in the cube it made a lot of noise. Well it has made it's come back. In August 07, we were in Houston at my parents house for Kim and Nick's wedding. Grace and Colin stayed with us, and well we had some time until the wedding. We got my parents to play and had a lot of fun with it! Its fun to make words out of the letters in hope that no one else has seen the same letter combo.
Sequence:
This game has been in Bryson's family for a long time! We always end of play this or some other card game with his family while we are visiting. Basically you form a sequence of chips on the board with the cards you are dealt and the first player/team to make a 5 chip sequence wins! Easier than it may sound...
Cribbage:
Yeah a lot of old people may play this, but I highly recommend it! Our Montana friends introduced this game to us. It's a card game, usually for two people, but you can play in teams (or there is a form of the game called Flat Cribbage that is also fun!) The goal is to get sets of 15 with the cards. Bryson and I play flat cribbage more, mostly because we forgot how to play the original....
Settlers of Catan:
This is possibly my newest favorite game. For no particular reason, I have resisted playing this game for some time now. But I finally gave in. I've been a spectator for a few games so I understood the rules. Our neighbors came over and we played it 3 nights in a row! The point of the game is to establish your city and get to 10 points first. You are a settler in the new land and are trying to development your plot of land better than the other players. It takes a lot of strategy...which I'm trying to work on.
I'm sure there are plenty of other games I could list that I enjoy...but I'm on a time crunch. What games are on your list to play?
