Bryson and I are house/dog sitting this weekend in a beautiful house in the Westlake Hills area. (If you're from ATX then it's like down the street from Mozarts/Hula Hut) Anyways we picked up the dogs from the kennel and we didn't know what to expect...they are 2 cute little white dogs. Copper, a little poodle, is 10 yrs old and takes arthritis medicine. Buddy, a vishon westie mix, is 2 yrs old and is laying next to me on the porch. It's so calm and refreshing in this house! For one it's really big, and they have a great porch! I was feelin girly and did my nails for Mandi's Bachlorette weekend, and Bryson is working on drawing for a project Fireseed is doing at ACC. I'm excited we get to pretend we live here for the next few days!!
Thanks to Kim Espi. (seriously you get more props on this blog than anyone...I think you're my only reader...) I checked out Crockpot 365 and fell in love. This lady used her crockpot for one year!! crazy! But I've found really good recipes! We had the Korean Ribs last night and OH MY GOSH! talk about delicious. They were extremely easy and the meat was soooo tender. I did spoon out a little bit of the juice into a saucepan and added cornstarch to make it a little thicker. Her website and recipes have really inspired me to use my crockpot more!!
Here's the recipe:
1 pkg beef or pork ribs (we used pork)
1 cup soy sauce
1 cup brown sugar
5-7 whole jalapenos
Put everything in your crockpot and go! we left ours for 8hrs. I turned the ribs a few times. It wasn't very spicy unless you actually eat the jalapenos like I did. (and the leftovers today were spicy) If you like the sauce thicker...spoon some in a saucepan like I mentioned earlier and add cornstarch. We had rice and green beans on the side. We totally recommend it!!!
