October Book

I know I know I'm a month behind on my books! Bryson gave me this book as one of my birthday presents. He knows I love to read and love my girlfriends. So he thought this would be a perfect book for me to read. It is a real life story of 11 women who have been friends for 40 years. The author tells of how they are all connected, funny stories growing up, personal struggles and why women's friendships are so important. This book made me think about my friendship. These girls have been at all my big life moments, graduation, marriage, and baby. I have been friends with 3 girls (Kimmy, LeighAnne and Kim) for the past 14 years. We have grown up together, share similar stories of our teenage years and know each others families. When I went to college at Texas State I soon became BFFs with 7 girls (Grace, Amanda, Corrie, Nikki, Kim, Jessie, and Lindsey) where we had a strong community of being really close in all areas of our life at that time. We have reunions/girls weekends every few months. I love both these groups of girls and so thankful for them.
....okay back to the book...yes, you should read it. There are a few boring parts, but in the end they are important to read to realize the tight knit bond these women have. There were a couple heartfelt moments when a few of the women are diagnosed with illness, a loss of a child, and a loss of a friend.
