March Book #4

One of my best girlfriend and I were catching up over coffee, on a Friday night a few weeks ago. As we were chatting she kept telling me about this book, what she was learning and how she was using it in her life. I took the recommendation and while browsing in my local public library, I found it! Amazingly enough I've never read a Beth Moore book.  I tried one of her bible studies in high school, but didn't finish it...sadly. I usually dont read non-ficition, let a lone a sorta self help book. So I was a litte out of my comfort zone with this book. But I was kinda excited at the same time to read a book from her, since she's a popular Christian author.  Now this book is for women. Any woman for that matter. And I highly recommend it!  All of us girls struggle with insecurity every single day! Isn't it so annoying?!! Reading this book brought to light many of my insecurities. It was quite interesting as I wrote down any/all  of my insecurities I could think of, and see the trend I was having with them. Beth Moore gives advice on how she has struggled with insecurity and ways to be healed from it. There are a couple of scriptures she mentions for us women to know and believe the truth in them.  I appreciated her honesty and openness while writing this book. She went off on little tangents here and there but over all it was a great way to let me see where I have let insecurity hold me back from things or have used my insecurity against someone.  She also has a few chapters on men's insecurities that were interesting to read too. After reading this book I still have my insecurites, but now I know where they are steming from and now I know practical ways and scripture to help me not believe those lies/insecurites. This book was motivating, eye opening and encouraging to know the Lord has made each one of us lovely and no one can take that from us.
