This was my first book to checkout from our local library! I was excited to read another book from Ann Brashares as I have read many other from her. She wrote the series "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants", the books are waaaay better than the cheesy movies and "The Last Summer (of You and Me). So as I got started with this book, it was just a little slow at the beginning and I thought she was trying to copy the storyline of "The Time Travelers Wife", a book I really enjoyed. After about 3 chapters I didn't know for sure if I wanted to continue reading, but I trudged on through more pages. It started to pick up a little more as the story of Daniel and Sophia/Lucy start to unfold, of their thousands of years knowing and falling in love with each other. It had me searching for what was going to happen next as the adventure continued, but the ending was not quite what I expected. I was a little disappointed, it wasn't the typical "happy ending" but left your imagination wondering what is would happen if Brashares wrote a sequel...hmmm. An okay, easy read, but definietly not my favorite book.
