January:
I started maternity leave from work in Austin, with no idea if I'd ever be back there. While after a long and challenging of 6 months of unemployment Bryson accepted a job offer in Houston. He worked there for 3 or 4 days and would travel back to Austin.
February:
After waiting to see if my body would naturally go into labor on February 10 (42 weeks pregnant aka 2 weeks overdue!) at a doctors appointment we decided to have a C-section the following day. February 11, 2010 I headed to the St. David's hospital in Austin, TX looking like this:
At 2:42pm we were greeted by the sweetest little girl, Violet Paige. Three days later we took our little Valentine home
We were overwhelmed with love and joy! We had so many visitors and care while we were home for 2 weeks. At the same time we were sadly, yet thankful the Lord provided a job and packing to move to Houston for Bryson's job.
March and April:
These months were spent learning the ropes of mommyhood. While I was loving being a mom, we had good days and bad days, it was all learning what Violet needed. I was missing my Austin friends/community like crazy. We made our first trip with V to Ballinger, to visit Bryson's family for Easter.
May:
I made a big decision to cut 12 inches of my hair off and donate it! I absolutely love short hair now! I dont know if I'll ever go that long again!
June:
We celebrated our 2 year anniversary!
July:
We took our first airplane trip to San Angelo as family.
And had a girls weekend in Marble Falls.
August:
I dont remember August. It for sure was hot!
September:
Was a very very busy month. We celebrated a wedding and my 26th birthday. Violet was 7.5 months and had officially been weaned from nursing, just in time for a weekend 'business trip' vacation to Kansas City . It was the longest we had been away from her since she was born. We had a great time in KC but were so glad to be back with our baby!
October:
Violet was 8 months and no longer a crawler, she was a cruiser.
We knew walking was about to start soon! We had a really fun visit from Bryson's sister and her family. We celebrated a beautiful wedding in Paris, Tx. And ended the month with a pumpkin patch and Violet dressed up as a Grape for Halloween.
November:
Started off with another memorable girls weekend in Austin!
An adventure week with Bryson and the start of his new job.
December:
Violet had begun walking! She is on the go! Bryson's dad had brain surgery and now is recovering very well! We also moved out of my parents into a wonderful apartment. We celebrated a special first family Christmas and then brought in the new year with dancing, laughing and sweet sweet friends.
